As a motion graphics instructor at Academy of Art University, I required that the students create a movie trailer from a book for their final project. I thought it would be fun, and helpful for the students if I created my own version of the project. I chose the book Ready Player One, which would later be adapted into a theatrical release. My visual concept involved changing the style of each scene to represent a different 8-bit game. All of the art was created in Adobe Illustrator, and the animation was created using Adobe After Effects.
